Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luis Perero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Villia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Villia will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luis Perero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Villia!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Perero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Villia has Perero up against the cage in a clinch.
Villia keeps control of Perero as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Perero tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Perero trying to control the position but instead, Villia has worked for underhooks and has pushed Perero into the cage.

Villia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Perero tries to keep at a distance but Villia has taken the fight into the clinch.
Villia cracks Perero with a nice body shot.
Villia keeps control of Perero as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Perero prevents a takedown attempt there.
Villia is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Villia drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Villia keeps control of Perero as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Perero is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Villia is trying to drag Perero to the mat but Perero just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Luis Perero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Villia.
Perero fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Villia changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Perero fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Perero checks the leg kick nicely there.

Villia clinches up with Perero and pushes him back against the cage.

Villia manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Perero postures up in Villia's guard and throws a big left but Villia blocks it.
Perero controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Villia wants to stand and escape but Perero is having none of it.
Villia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Villia is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Perero is aware though and is defending well.
Villia throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Perero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Villia is keeping the position for now.

Perero decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Villia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Perero avoids it really well and circles away.

Villia clinches.
Perero is looking to break free of the clinch but Villia has double underhooks.

Villia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Villia closes the distance and clinches.
Perero has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Villia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Perero is breathing heavily.

Villia breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Perero checks a low kick from Villia.
Perero avoids the head kick by Villia.
Perero throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Villia's waist but Villia gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Perero off to one side.
Villia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Perero fails with the takedown.
Villia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Villia shoots in and drives through. Perero sprawls well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Villia has Perero up against the cage in a clinch.

Villia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anthony Villia dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


No joy there for Villia, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Villia forces Perero back against the cage and clinches.
Perero throws an elbow that misses.
Villia lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Perero or not.

Villia pulls guard successfully.
Villia wants to stand but Perero is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Villia looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Villia not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Perero passes into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Perero working over Villia with some ground and pound. Villia looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Villia wants to get back to full guard.
Perero thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Villia's head.
Perero is looking to take a break and control but Villia is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Villia is trying to maintain the position but Perero is very close to passing his half guard.

Perero seems to be working for a kimura but Villia defends the submission attempt.
Villia is trying to get back to full guard.

Villia is trying to control but Perero manages to pass to mount!

Villia bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Perero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Perero is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Perero is trying to keep Villia in close.

Villia decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Perero, up you get!
Villia shoots in but Perero avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Villia shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Perero drives through with a takedown into Villia's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Perero postures up.
Perero might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Perero trying to control the position from guard on top but Villia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Luis Perero overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A close second round but Anthony Villia will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Villia looks for a takedown but Perero sprawls well.
Perero shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Villia as he avoids it easily.

Villia tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Perero wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Perero sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Villia is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Villia is pushing Perero's head away, looking to escape. Perero manages to hold on to the position though.
Perero trying to control the position but Villia is working away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Perero moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Perero decides to stand back up. Perero steps back and let's Villia get back to his feet.
Perero displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Villia.
Luis Perero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anthony Villia.
Villia tries to land a front kick but Perero steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
No luck for Villia with that takedown attempt.
Perero just misses with a punch to the body.
Perero tries to clinch up but Villia circles away and keeps his distance.

Perero shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Perero showed some decent athleticism there.
Perero is taking a breather. Villia says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Villia is trying to maintain the position but Perero is very close to passing his half guard.
Perero trying to control the action but Villia is working from the bottom.
Villia flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Villia tries to get to full guard but Perero has control of the leg.
Perero is thwarting Villia's attempts to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Villia misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Perero counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Villia!

Perero wants to control the pace but Villia is squirming around nicely.

Villia is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Perero throws some wild stikes that Villia manages to avoid easily.
Villia tries to buck Perero off but he can't manage it.
Villia is working to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Perero throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Luis Perero has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Anthony Villia is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Villia wants to control but Perero is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luis Perero showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Villia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
