PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ivan Karamazin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kitsune Tsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karamazin comes to the cage accompanied by Low Rider. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Karamazin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kitsune Tsuki!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karamazin dives in and grabs Tsuki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tsuki pushes down on Karamazin's head and hops out.

Tsuki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Karamazin is trying to defend but Tsuki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Karamazin trying to control from the bottom.
Karamazin is pressing down on Tsuki's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Karamazin has Tsuki pulled in close to control his posture.
Tsuki throws a big right hand that misses.
Karamazin seems keen to control Tsuki's posture.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tsuki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tsuki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Karamazin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Karamazin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tsuki defends it easily.

Karamazin pulls Tsuki in close to prevent any damage.
Karamazin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tsuki postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Karamazin is trying to keep Tsuki in close.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tsuki's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Tsuki trying to control the position from guard on top but Karamazin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Tsuki wants to stand and escape but instead Karamazin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tsuki working for a triangle but Karamazin defends it easily.
Karamazin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Tsuki is keeping the position for now.

Tsuki looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Tsuki is looking for a sweep. Karamazin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Karamazin connects with a nice short shot to Tsuki's temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Karamazin is trying to work for a kimura but Tsuki is defending well.

Karamazin is pressing down on Tsuki's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tsuki is holding on for now.
Karamazin works his foot free and advances to mount.
Karamazin looking to control but Tsuki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Tsuki holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Karamazin tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Tsuki is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Karamazin scoring with strikes but Tsuki is staying in there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karamazin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Tsuki is squirming around, avoiding Karamazin's attempts to control the action.
Karamazin wants to take Tsuki's back here but Tsuki is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

Tsuki is trying to escape the mount.
Tsuki regains half guard.
Karamazin trying to control the action but Tsuki is working from the bottom.
Karamazin winds up and cracks Tsuki with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Tsuki is defending against the submission attempts here by Karamazin.

Karamazin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Karamazin is thwarting Tsuki's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Karamazin dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Tsuki swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tsuki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Karamazin sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tsuki somewhat.

Karamazin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Karamazin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Tsuki wants to control but Karamazin is having none of it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Karamazin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tsuki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tsuki shrugs it off.

Tsuki is controlling an arm, preventing Karamazin from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Karamazin is looking to work his way around to Tsuki's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tsuki wants to control but Karamazin is having none of it.
Tsuki is trying desperately to improve position.
Karamazin wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Karamazin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tsuki is looking to escape.

Tsuki tries to roll over but Karamazin keeps him under control.

Karamazin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tsuki is just riding it out for now. Karamazin eventually gives up the hold.

Karamazin works his foot free and advances to mount.

Karamazin is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Tsuki has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Karamazin wants to take his opponent's back but Tsuki doesn't allow it.
Karamazin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Tsuki is looking to get to half guard.
Karamazin seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Tsuki is holding on tight.

Karamazin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tsuki is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tsuki and Karamazin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Karamazin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Tsuki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Karamazin dives in and grabs Tsuki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tsuki pushes down on Karamazin's head and hops out.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tsuki enables Karamazin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tsuki manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Tsuki has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karamazin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Tsuki is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Karamazin has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Karamazin!

Tsuki pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

I would just about give that final round to Kitsune Tsuki.
I think Karamazin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
