The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Shaw.
Ko throws a body punch but Shaw moves out of range.

Ko gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shaw to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Ko keeps moving.

Shaw feints a jab promting Ko to slip. Shaw then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ko slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Ko thuds a left hand into Shaw's body.
Ko is looking to wear down Shaw with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Shaw takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ko sprawls well. Ko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shaw gets slowly back to his feet.

Shaw closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

You can see the frustration on Ko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ko really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ivan Ko will probably get the nod.

Ko manages to break the clinch.
Ko steps in with a hook that catches Shaw right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Ko follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Shaw looks absolutely devastated.
