The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tavares with a lazy takedown attempt
and Bot counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tavares shoots in looking for a takedown. Bot tries to sprawl out of it but Tavares keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cael Sanderson Bot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernado Tavares.

and Bot counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bot ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Tavares has his takedown stuffed
and Bot connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A looping hook to the body misses from Bot. Tavares does a little dance to reset his feet.

Fernado Tavares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bot scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Tavares doesn't seem bothered though.

Tavares shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Bot counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tavares thinking.
Tavares is trying desperately to land a takedown but Bot is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Tavares.

It looks like Fernado Tavares has been cut.
Bot lunges at Tavares with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tavares's hand.
Bot is looking to wear down Tavares with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Bot fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tavares manages to avoid it.

Bot closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Tavares out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!
