Japa Kaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kaka tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Holmes was well out of range. Poor timing from Kaka.

Kaka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Kaka drops Holmes with a big left hand and mounts him. Holmes is in big trouble!

Oh Holmes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kaka wants to stand but Holmes has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Holmes makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holmes.

Kaka throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kaka goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Holmes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Kaka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Kaka scores with a hook to the body. Holmes takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Kaka lets loose with a powerful body kick. Holmes will feel that in the morning.
Holmes is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kaka scores with a sloppy right hand. Holmes should have avoided that one.

Herman Holmes's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Japa Kaka seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Holmes tries to move into range but Kaka moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kaka throws an overhand right that lands on Holmes's shoulder, as Holmes tries to avoid the shot.

Sloppy strikes from Kaka. Those never looked like landing.
Holmes on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Kaka connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Holmes tumbling to the canvas! Kaka pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Holmes was done - good stoppage!
