The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saxon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Saxon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rivaldo working a defensive guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rivaldo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Saxon tries to roll over but Rivaldo keeps him under control.

Saxon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Rivaldo connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Saxon scrambles back to his feet.

Saxon has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Rivaldo finds it's way round the side to connect with Saxon's head.

Saxon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Saxon closes the distance and clinches up with Rivaldo, looking for a takedown. Saxon pushes Rivaldo against the cage but Rivaldo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Rivaldo drops Saxon with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Saxon! Rivaldo dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
