PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Alexander Ellis has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Alexander Ellis seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

OK we're going to have a standup here. Damian Maia hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ellis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Maia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Maia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ellis throws a hook but Maia avoids it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ellis enables Maia to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ellis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ellis swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well Maia has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
