Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yodsaenklai Fairtex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua has chosen Don't Talk To Strangers as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rua takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Fairtex connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fairtex was well out of range. Poor timing from Rua.
Fairtex jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rua.
Rua rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Rua throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Fairtex tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rua is in Fairtex's guard.

Rua wants to control from the top but Fairtex keeps moving.
Fairtex can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rua controls the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pedro Rua hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Fairtex cracks the inside of Rua's front leg.
A slapping leg kick lands for Fairtex.
Rua throws a lazy uppercut
and Fairtex counters with a good low kick that Rua was not able to check.
Fairtex misses with a low kick.
Fairtex connects with the punch.
Fairtex takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Fairtex throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Rua tries to land a leg kick but Fairtex saw it coming and moves away.
Rua takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Fairtex looks to throw the jab but Rua is out of range.
Rua swings away with a leg kick that misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fairtex slips under a jab from Rua.
Rua shoots in for a takedown but Fairtex shows good takedown defense.

Rua feints and as Fairtex raises his hands in defense, Rua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rua's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Fairtex not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rua sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Fairtex's guard.
Fairtex is trying to control but can't.
Rua thows a huge punch but Fairtex dodges it nicely.

Rua stands up from half guard.
Fairtex on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Rua listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Rua ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rua misses with a head kick.
Rua cracks Fairtex with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Fairtex is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Rua fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Fairtex manages to avoid it.
Rua thuds his shin into the meat of Fairtex's side.
Fairtex keeps the fight on the outside.
Rua throws a half hearted mid kick.
Rua pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rua throws a hook but Fairtex avoids it easily.
Rua lands a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
An inside leg kick lands from Fairtex.
Rua swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Rua drives through and clinches with Fairtex against the cage.
Rua trying to stall but Fairtex improves his position.
Fairtex avoids a wild elbow strike from Rua.
Fairtex goes for a takedown attempt but Rua pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fairtex circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rua throws an overhand right that lands on Fairtex's shoulder, as Fairtex tries to avoid the shot.
Fairtex takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rua scores with a leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Rua dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rua scores with a sloppy right hand. Fairtex should have avoided that one.

Fairtex is rocked!
Rua darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Fairtex's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Rua before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
