PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ister Band (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Graf Orlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orlak throws a looping overhand right but Band ducks down to avoid it.
Orlak throws a leg kick but Band sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Orlak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Band shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Band was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Band throwing strikes here but Orlak is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Band swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Orlak is now in Band's guard. A big mistake from Band there, giving up the dominant position!
Band wants to sweep here but Orlak controlling him for the moment.

Band looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Orlak puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Band actively working from the bottom here.
Band tries to roll over but Orlak keeps him under control.
Band is not content to let Orlak control the position.

Orlak is trying to control the action in half guard but Band is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Band is looking for a triangle here but Orlak uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Band has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Band tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Band looks to move to half guard but instead Orlak has passed into mount! Damn!
Orlak misses with a head shot.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Band regains half guard.
Band is pressing down on Orlak's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Band is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Orlak is aware though and is defending well.

Band escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Orlak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Band is looking to sinch up a triangle. Orlak throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Band's body to avoid the submission. Band has instead reached around Orlak's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Band arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
