Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Laranja might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fruits and Vegetables. Johnson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Through the Fire Flames- Dragonforce. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laranja chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Laranja tries to clinch but Johnson is having none of it.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Laranja as he avoids it easily.
Johnson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Laranja is trying to defend but Johnson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow.
Laranja wants to get back to his feet.

Johnson postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Johnson has hold of Laranja's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Laranja tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Johnson cranks the arm and Laranja screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Laranja, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
