PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fresh Hamz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fresh Hamz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saint Pierre!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamz stuffs the takedown.
Pierre gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hamz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Fresh Hamz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saint Pierre.
Hamz lands a right hook to the body.
Good leg kick by Hamz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Hamz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hamz motions for Pierre to come forward. Hamz throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pierre changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hamz tries to avoid it but Pierre manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hamz to the ground. Hamz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pierre will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pierre shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Hamz counters with a left to the body.
Pierre looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Some bone on bone action there as Pierre checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Saint Pierre seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hamz swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Hamz throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Nice takedown defense from Hamz. No joy for Pierre on that attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pierre shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hamz as he avoids it easily.
Hamz is looking to slow Pierre down with leg kicks.
Pierre shoots for a takedown but Hamz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pierre shoots in looking for a takedown but Hamz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pierre's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pierre dives in and grabs Hamz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hamz pushes down on Pierre's head and hops out.
Pierre takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hamz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pierre ducks right into an uppercut from Hamz.

Hamz lands a left and a right that send Pierre crashing to the mat, dazed. Hamz thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Pierre is rocked!
Hamz cracks Pierre with a left hook right on the temple and Pierre goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Hamz lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Pierre is OK!
