PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Vadim Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim comes to the cage accompanied by call me. Ward has chosen Kick it in the Sticks as his entrance music. Vadim Kim has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ward shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kim's guard.
Kim keeping moving, preventing Ward from controlling successfully.

Kim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ward doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ward manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Ward seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Kim escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ward gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ward wants to control from the top but Kim keeps moving.
Ward is looking to stand up but Kim won't let him.

Kim has an active guard here but Ward has managed to pass into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ward looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Ward scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Kim is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ward scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Ward slips a nice elbow through Kim's hands, connecting with Kim's forehead.
Ward lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Ward is working for a kimura but Kim is defending it quite comfortably.
Ward passes the guard and advances to mount!
Kim is looking to improve his position but Ward isn't that keen on the idea.

Ward gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kim blocks a leg kick.

Ward rushes Kim and presses him up against the cage.
Ward avoiding damage.

Ward manages to pull guard.

Kim thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Ward is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kim drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Kim as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Ward screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Kim! Nice submission victory there!
