Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brewster Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake LaMotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaMotta has chosen Cavalleria Rusticana: Intermezzo as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jake LaMotta has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 0, fighting out of London, Brewster Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake LaMotta!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Paul Tew and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns with a body punch. A glancing blow.

Burns closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
LaMotta pushes Burns back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
LaMotta effectively controlling the action here.
Burns fails to pull the fight into his guard.

LaMotta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
LaMotta keeps the fight on the outside.
Burns tries to clinch up

and LaMotta counters with a takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Burns is trying to get back to half guard.
LaMotta is putting a hurting on Burns here, landing some big shots from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns is trying to control LaMotta's posture but LaMotta avoids it.
Burns tries to improve position but can't.

LaMotta working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
LaMotta working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Burns moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, LaMotta has worked his arm free - good work by LaMotta!

Burns working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Burns throws an elbow but LaMotta slips to the side and avoids it well.
LaMotta struggling a bit here.

Burns is trying to get an arm triangle but LaMotta is defending well.

Burns thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Burns creates some space and throws a big elbow, but LaMotta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
LaMotta is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burns off and has taken his back!

Burns defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of LaMotta's arms.

LaMotta has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Burns manages to reverse the position and now he's in LaMotta's guard. Nice work there by Burns.
LaMotta is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Burns postures up and lands a big shot to LaMotta's brow.
Burns postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Burns wants to pass the guard but LaMotta is keeping the position.
Burns prevents LaMotta from getting back to his feet.

Burns drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Burns jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
LaMotta is trying to keep Burns in close.
Burns pushes down on LaMotta's leg and manages to get into half guard.
LaMotta regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
LaMotta utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Burns is looking to work some ground and pound but LaMotta has wrist control.
Burns throws an elbow that misses. LaMotta uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Burns's guard. Nice move by LaMotta!

LaMotta avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brewster Burns will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Burns tries to clinch up
and LaMotta makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
LaMotta thows a body shot but no joy.
Burns moves to clinch but LaMotta breaks away
and LaMotta makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
LaMotta bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Burns's head backwards.
Burns is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Burns misses with a wild body shot.

Burns tries to clinch but LaMotta moves out of range.

LaMotta gets the takedown into side control.
Burns gets back to half guard.

Burns looking for submissions off his back.

Burns actively working from the bottom here.
Burns has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. LaMotta is working away from the top position though.
LaMotta lands with a punch from half guard.

Burns is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but LaMotta pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
LaMotta takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

LaMotta looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Burns with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

LaMotta seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Burns is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
