The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gill shoots in for a takedown but Martial shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Martial counters with a good low kick that Gill was not able to check.

Martial throws a right and a left that both miss.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gill. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Martial tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gill was well out of range. Poor timing from Martial.
Gill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Martial pinned against the cage. Martial gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gill takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Martial lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Gill tries to score a power double leg takedown but Martial sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gill somewhat.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Gill closes the distance and clinches up with Martial, looking for a takedown. Gill pushes Martial against the cage but Martial circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gill changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Martial tries to avoid it but Gill manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Martial to the ground. Martial escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Martial. Gill shrugs it off though.
Gill chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Martial can pounce on him.
Martial lands with an uppercut that bounces Gill off the cage and back into range.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gill seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Martial shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Gill is backing up but Martial catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Gill covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Martial Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
