Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vin Guin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ahmad Faidhi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vin Guin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ahmad Faidhi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guin takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Guin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Guin working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Faidhi's head.
Guin tries to free his leg and advance position but Faidhi is retaining full guard.
Guin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Faidhi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Guin trying to hold on to Faidhi's head to control him but Faidhi postures up.
Faidhi wants to take a breather but Guin is having none of it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Guin tries to roll over but Faidhi keeps him under control.

Faidhi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Guin has his hands clasped together around Faidhi's back. He's all about the action.
Guin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Faidhi tries to pass to full mount but Guin defends it.
Guin is holding on to half guard well.

We're going to have a standup here because Vin Guin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Guin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Guin swats away the attempt to clinch by Faidhi.
Guin slaps away a takedown attempt from Faidhi, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A looping hook to the body misses from Guin. Faidhi does a little dance to reset his feet.

Faidhi bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Faidhi ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Guin tries to score with a low kick but Faidhi moves his leg out of the way.
Guin is looking to clinch but Faidhi is avoiding it.
Guin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Faidhi.
Faidhi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Guin drives through with a takedown into Faidhi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Faidhi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Guin!

Faidhi wants to control the pace but Guin is squirming around nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Faidhi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Guin is looking to escape.

Guin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Faidhi on the ground.
Guin wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Guin tries to escape but Faidhi has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vin Guin will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Faidhi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Guin keeps working.
Guin is trying to get back to half guard.

Faidhi is trying to get an arm triangle but Guin is defending well.
Guin is looking to regain half guard here but Faidhi keeps moving and retains side control.
Faidhi looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Guin is avoiding damage well.

Guin struggling a bit here.
Faidhi trying to control the action but Guin is working from the bottom.
Faidhi is breathing heavily.
Faidhi cracks Guin with a big elbow.

Faidhi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Guin tries to bench press Faidhi off him but Faidhi keeps the position.
Vin Guin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

You can see the frustration on Guin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Guin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Guin is trying to control Faidhi's posture but Faidhi avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Guin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Faidhi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Guin, who protects the arm well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ahmad Faidhi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Guin tries to clinch there but Faidhi circles away.
Faidhi slaps away a takedown attempt from Guin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Faidhi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Guin is fending him off so far but Faidhi persists. Nope, Guin circles away and we're back to standing.
Guin shoots in for a takedown but Faidhi shows good takedown defense.
A punch combination from Guin misses.
Guin shoots in and drives through. Faidhi sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vin Guin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Guin.
Faidhi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Faidhi lands a two punch combo.

Faidhi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Guin but Guin pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Guin takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Vin Guin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Faidhi throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Guin shoots in and gets a takedown into Faidhi's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Guin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Faidhi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vin Guin.

Faidhi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ahmad Faidhi hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Guin gets a double leg takedown into Faidhi's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Faidhi is controlling Guin's posture.

And that's the end of the fight!
Vin Guin showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Guin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
