Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerson Antunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Henry comes to the cage accompanied by Fighter. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackie Henry !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gerson Antunes!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Antunes feints and as Henry raises his hands in defense, Antunes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Henry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Antunes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Antunes throws a wild body kick that Henry sees coming a mile off.

and Henry counters with a one-two to the body.
Henry tries to bum rush Antunes with a series of wild strikes but Antunes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Antunes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Henry swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gerson Antunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Antunes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Henry looks to land a combination but Antunes avoids it well.
Henry avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Antunes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Antunes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Henry throws a nice looking combination but Antunes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Gerson Antunes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Henry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Antunes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Antunes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Antunes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Antunes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Henry is trying to control the position from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Henry is on top in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Henry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Antunes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Henry has managed to get both his arms back between Antunes's legs - danger averted.

Henry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Antunes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Henry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Antunes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Henry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Henry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Henry takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

I would just about give that final round to Gerson Antunes.
Well Antunes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
