Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maximus Merceli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Harris!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merceli fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Harris avoids it really well and circles away.
Merceli throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Harris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Merceli.
Harris fails with the takedown.

Merceli darts in and clinches Harris up against the cage.
Merceli wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Merceli tries to break the clinch but Harris is controlling the position.
Harris keeps control of Merceli as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Harris fails to pull guard.
Merceli tries to circle away but Harris has him pinned against the cage.
Merceli is trying to break the clinch but Harris is controlling him.

Merceli has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Merceli pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Merceli shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Harris manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Merceli decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Harris, up you get!
Maximus Merceli seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Harris moves into the clinch.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Merceli throws a right hand that Harris ducks under and follows up with a left that Harris also avoids with ease.

Merceli is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Harris has Merceli pressed against the cage, preventing Merceli from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Horrible takedown by Merceli or perhaps it was just good defense by Harris which made him look bad.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Merceli throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harris.

Merceli feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Merceli drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Merceli jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Harris is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Harris is bucking up trying to escape but Merceli cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
