Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jayar Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is FIGHT TO DEATH. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Velasquez.
Velasquez tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Velasquez, pushing him back against the cage.

Smith gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Velasquez regains guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Velasquez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Smith pulls his head out easily.
Velasquez is refusing to be controlled, as Smith sits in half guard.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Velasquez's head.
Smith wants to control but Velasquez is keeping him busy.
Smith tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Smith wants to free his trapped foot but Velasquez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Velasquez wants to improve his position but Smith is controlling well.

Velasquez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!

Velasquez is looking for the choke from the back position but Smith is controlling his hands well.

Velasquez is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Smith has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Smith tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Smith wants to control but Velasquez is having none of it.

Velasquez jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Smith is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Smith and Velasquez has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
