The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sexwale tries to clinch but Akergaard is having none of it.
Sexwale is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Akergaard keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Sexwale rushes Akergaard and presses him up against the cage.
Akergaard blocks an elbow strike from Sexwale.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Akergaard tightens his grip and picks Sexwale up, before dumping him to the ground. Sexwale manages to land in guard.
Sexwale tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Akergaard stays in close to Sexwale's body and controls the position.
Akergaard trying to control the position from guard on top but Sexwale is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Akergaard pushing down on Sexwale's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Akergaard slips a nice elbow through Sexwale's hands, connecting with Sexwale's forehead.
Akergaard is taking a breather. Sexwale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sexwale avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Akergaard.
Akergaard wants to pass the guard but Sexwale is defending well.
Akergaard passes to side control.
Sexwale tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Akergaard is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Sexwale looks calm but he's in trouble here. Akergaard gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Sexwale is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Akergaard lets go of the hold and Sexwale can pop his arm back in it's socket.
