Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Colly Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lennon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Colly Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Lennon!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lennon dodges the punch combination from Davis.
Nice uppercut lands for Davis. That snapped Lennon's head back.
Lennon slips a jab from Davis.

Davis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Davis is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lennon is surviving well by controlling Davis's body position as best he can.

Davis has hold of Lennon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Lennon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lennon is working to get back to half guard.

Davis goes for an armbar but Lennon turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Lennon.
Lennon passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Lennon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Davis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Lennon wants to stand but Davis is controlling his arm.
Davis controls the position for a moment.
Davis is trying to buck Lennon off.
Davis is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lennon's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Lennon is working for a kimura but Davis is defending it quite comfortably.

Davis is breathing heavily.

Lennon is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Davis has managed to free his arm - good work.
Davis gets full guard.
Davis has control of Lennon's left arm, preventing Lennon from doing any damage.
Davis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Davis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lennon turns into him and now he's in Davis's guard.
Lennon wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.

Davis will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lennon tries to free his leg and advance position but Davis is retaining full guard.
Lennon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Davis lands some strikes from the bottom.

Lennon is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Davis shoots for a takedown but Lennon saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Davis has a takedown stuffed.

Lennon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Lennon looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Lennon stands up and beckons Davis to his feet.

and Lennon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davis's guard now.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colly Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Lennon is fighting to break Davis's control of his arms but Davis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Lennon advances to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Davis has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lennon is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Lennon wants to work for an arm triangle but Davis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Davis wants to control but Lennon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lennon tries to stand and escape but Davis is controlling the position.

Davis is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Lennon moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Davis has worked his arm free - good work by Davis!

Lennon is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Davis as he works his way to full guard.

Lennon stands and throws Davis's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Lennon stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Davis misses with a takedown

and Lennon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lennon.

Lennon manages to break the clinch.
Lennon fails with an attempt to clinch.
Davis connects with a nice looking jab.

Davis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lennon, pushing him back against the cage.

The referee calls for Davis to work.

Davis has Lennon pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lennon manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Lennon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Colly Davis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Davis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lennon counters by clinching up.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colly Davis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lennon throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Davis blocks it with crossed arms.

Lennon is pressing down on Davis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Davis is holding on for now.
Lennon is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Davis lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lennon!

John Lennon has got the better of the ground game so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Colly Davis will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Davis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Lennon is not content to let Davis control the position.

Davis lands a nice forearm strike.
Lennon manages to get back to half guard.
Lennon works his way to full guard. Good work.

Lennon wants to improve his position but instead Davis has moved into half guard.
Davis passes to side control.
Lennon gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Davis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Lennon has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Davis is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Davis drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Colly Davis showed his dominance in that final round.
