Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benedikt Pushkar!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobchak lands a leg kick that knocks Pushkar off balance momentarily.
Sobchak avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Pushkar throws the kick towards the body but Sobchak avoids it.
Sobchak on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sobchak . Pushkar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Pushkar defending well as Sobchak loads up on a big left hand.
Pushkar throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sobchak .

Pushkar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Pushkar sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Sobchak is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Pushkar advances to full mount.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sobchak is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pushkar thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Pushkar throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sobchak because Pushkar loaded up on that one.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sobchak is trying desperately to improve position.
Pushkar throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

It looks like Jeff Sobchak has been cut.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pushkar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sobchak is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pushkar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Sobchak wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Pushkar.

Pushkar thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Jeff Sobchak 's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pushkar cracks Sobchak with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Jeez, Jeff Sobchak 's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jeff Sobchak 's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Benedikt Pushkar!
During a confident post fight interview, Benedikt Pushkar thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
