Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Filipe Belo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belo has chosen Apaga mais não bate as his entrance music. Filipe Belo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Belo as he avoids it easily.
Belo slips under a jab from Coleman.

Coleman scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Belo wants to control but Coleman postures up.
The strikes coming from Coleman are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Belo sneaks back into half guard.
Coleman is breathing heavily.
Coleman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Despite being in the dominant position, Filipe Belo just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Coleman counters with a takedown into side control.
Belo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Coleman off and has taken his back!

Coleman is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

You can see the frustration on Coleman's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Coleman turns into Belo and is now in his guard.
Coleman has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Belo is proving hard to escape from.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Coleman closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Belo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Coleman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Coleman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Coleman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Belo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Coleman!
Belo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Coleman is looking to escape.
Coleman is looking to improve his position but Belo isn't that keen on the idea.

Coleman is squirming around, avoiding Belo's attempts to control the action.
Coleman is wriggling around trying to escape.
Belo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Coleman is looking to escape.
Belo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Coleman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
