PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cole Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chack Sabac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chack Sabac told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chack Sabac!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabac fails with the takedown
and Sabac takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Foster tests Sabac's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Foster lands with a shot to the body.
Foster scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Chack Sabac has been cut.

Foster has taken the fight to the clinch.

Foster manages to break the clinch.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Foster pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Sabac has hold of Foster's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Foster manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Foster is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Sabac is working for a guillotine from mount but Foster frees his head quite easily.

Sabac wants to finish this one by submission but Foster is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sabac.
Sabac prevents Foster from getting the reversal.

Sabac is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Foster can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Foster defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Sabac.

Sabac with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Foster is in all sorts of trouble here.
Foster knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sabac on the ground.

Sabac has control of Foster's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Foster regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Sabac goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Foster turns into him and now he's in Sabac's guard.
Foster has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Sabac has his foot on Foster's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Foster works his way back into a safe position though.
Foster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Sabac is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Foster is aware though and is defending well.

Sabac has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sabac is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Foster wanted to stand there but Sabac had control of the position.

Sabac escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Foster gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Foster stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sabac swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

We're going to have a standup here because Cole Foster wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sabac has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Sabac has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Foster finds it's way round the side to connect with Sabac's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chack Sabac dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Foster scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Foster escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sabac jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Foster walks away with a smile on his face. Sabac gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Sabac takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Foster lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sabac fails with the takedown
and Foster counters with an outside leg kick.
Foster looks to land a combination. Sabac sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


That has opened up Chack Sabac's cut even more.

Foster moves into the clinch successfully.
Sabac tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Foster just stands there and leans against the cage.

Foster escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Foster counters with a nice body shot.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Good leg kick by Foster there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A left and a right from Foster both land. Nice combination.

Sabac ducks right into an uppercut from Foster.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Foster counters with a three punch combo that has Sabac backing up. Sabac nods at Foster to acknowledge the strikes.

Foster forces Sabac back against the cage and clinches.
Foster's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Foster lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Foster scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Foster scores with a crisp jab that stopped Sabac in his tracks.
Foster pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Sabac back to the cage. Foster follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Foster counters with a series of strikes. Sabac will be more careful next time no doubt.
Sabac has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Sabac takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Foster connects with a leg kick. Sabac looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
