PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sky Saxon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Peezy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peezy has chosen Super Buu Theme Song as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Joe Peezy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saxon closes the distance and clinches up with Peezy, looking for a takedown. Saxon pushes Peezy against the cage but Peezy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A low kick from Peezy misses

and Saxon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Peezy's guard now.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Saxon is stalling in the full guard.
Peezy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saxon is one step ahead there.
Saxon controlling from the top position.
Saxon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Saxon drops back looking for a leg! Peezy is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Peezy manages to kick Saxon off! Saxon jumps back into Peezy's guard.

Saxon postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Peezy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saxon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saxon works to advance to full mount. Peezy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Peezy tries to lock up and control but Saxon gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Saxon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Saxon cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Saxon looking to control but Peezy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Saxon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Saxon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Peezy's face.
Peezy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Saxon has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saxon postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Peezy looks a forlorn figure.

Peezy is still in real trouble! Can Saxon finish him?
Peezy takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Saxon's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
