Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Dyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rhomber Vernius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dyer's entrance music is Spitfire-Prodigy. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Dyer wants to clinch.
Vernius tries for a takedown but Dyer circles away easily

and Dyer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dyer.
Vernius on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

It looks like Rhomber Vernius has been cut.

Dyer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dyer tries to clinch but Vernius moves out of range.
James Dyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dyer takes the fight into the clinch.
Dyer lands an elbow inside that Vernius shrugs off.

Vernius jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dyer walks away with a smile on his face. Vernius gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Vernius decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dyer's guard.

Vernius slips nicely into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vernius wants to free his trapped foot but Dyer is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Dyer pushes Vernius off looking to stand but Vernius dives back in and keeps control.

Vernius wants to work for an arm triangle but Dyer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Vernius is looking to advance position but Dyer won't allow it.
Dyer wants to get back to his feet.

Vernius is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dyer reverses the position - he's now on top in Vernius's guard.
Vernius wants to sweep but no luck.
Vernius bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dyer's guard.
Vernius stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Dyer is breathing heavily.
Dyer wants to get back to his feet.
Vernius wants to take a breather but Dyer is having none of it.
Vernius is pressing down on Dyer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dyer is holding on for now.
Dyer is not content to let Vernius control the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Vernius has got one arm under Dyer's chin. This could be trouble... Dyer trying to control the other hand but Vernius gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Dyer has tapped out! The fight is over!
