The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Venturia throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Venturia avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Venturia lands with an uppercut that bounces carlson off the cage and back into range.
It looks like Charles carlson has been cut.
Venturia misses with a looping right.
Venturia throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Venturia throws a jab but it's blocked by carlson .
carlson scores with the left hand. Venturia knows he should have avoided that one.
carlson misses with a few strikes there.
carlson misses with the combination.
Venturia throws a head kick but carlson moves out of range.
carlson throws a hook but Venturia avoids it easily.
Some wild striking there from Venturia.
Charles carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
carlson jabs Venturia right on the nose. Venturia blinks but takes it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
carlson blocks a head kick by Venturia.
carlson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
carlson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Venturia slips under a jab.
carlson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

carlson moves out of range as Venturia strikes.
carlson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Venturia.
carlson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Venturia misses with a lunging right hand
and carlson counters with a straight right hand.
carlson thows a body shot but no joy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
carlson takes a swing at Venturia's ribcage but misses.
carlson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
carlson keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
carlson thuds his right hand into Venturia's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
carlson misses with a hook.
Venturia swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by carlson .
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
carlson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
carlson lands a jab to the nose.
Venturia is rocked!
carlson lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Venturia up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs carlson from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Venturia's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charles carlson !
After the fight, Charles carlson was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
