The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez shoots in and bounces CrackScratcher off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Alvarez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Alvarez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
CrackScratcher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alvarez distracts CrackScratcher with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Alvarez's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Alvarez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Paulo Alvarez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
CrackScratcher is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

CrackScratcher is bucking up trying to escape but Alvarez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Dubious CrackScratcher has been cut.
CrackScratcher is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Alvarez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
CrackScratcher is in a horrible position here. Alvarez smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
