The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mystery gets a clinch.

and Mystery counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thomas won't be happy with that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mystery laying and praying for a moment but Thomas takes advantage and regains half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thomas stands up from Mystery's guard - Thomas perhaps looking for a knockout.

Mystery shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mystery showed some decent athleticism there.
Thomas is refusing to be controlled, as Mystery sits in half guard.
Mystery lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Thomas wants to get back to his feet.
Thomas avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mystery.
Mystery with the ground and pound but Thomas uses the opportunity to regain guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mystery accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Thomas is breathing heavily.
Thomas is standing up over Mystery. Mystery looks to escape but Thomas dives into side control.

Thomas decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mystery to his feet.
Mystery avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thomas throws the left hand but Mystery avoids the punch easily.
Mystery avoids a punch combination nicely.

Mystery has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Thomas is proving hard to escape from.

Mystery content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Thomas has locked up a guillotine! Thomas's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mystery is holding on here and Thomas must be using up a lot of energy. Mystery has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Thomas gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
