Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy Gunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stephan Lovkiss!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn looks for a takedown but Lovkiss sprawls well.

Lovkiss closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lovkiss has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gunn clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Lovkiss looking for the choke from the back.
Lovkiss gets his hands free as Gunn looks to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lovkiss struggling to land strikes to the head as Gunn covers up.
Lovkiss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gunn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lovkiss lands a shot to the head.
Gunn is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Lovkiss really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Gunn.

Lovkiss is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lovkiss with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Gunn bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Gunn looks for a takedown but Lovkiss sprawls well.

Lovkiss manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Gunn on his heels. He'll look to pass Gunn's guard now, I'm sure.
Lovkiss throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gunn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gunn had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lovkiss defends it easily.

Lovkiss wants to stand but Gunn is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lovkiss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gunn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lovkiss has gone for a leg lock! Gunn slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lovkiss's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Lovkiss can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gunn wants to work for an arm triangle but Lovkiss is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Gunn is pushing down on Lovkiss's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lovkiss is fighting to maintain full guard but Gunn has managed to sneak the leg through.

Gunn looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Stephan Lovkiss showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Lovkiss darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lovkiss is looking to advance position but Gunn won't allow it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Lovkiss content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Lovkiss works his way into full mount!
Gunn really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Lovkiss lands a nice shot to the head.
The referee warns Gunn that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lovkiss prevents Gunn from getting the reversal.

Tommy Gunn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stephan Lovkiss is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lovkiss is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Well Lovkiss has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
