Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hank Peterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Rassle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hank Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Rassle!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Rassle is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Peterson's half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Rassle throwing shots but Peterson is blocking nicely.
Rassle looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Rassle is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Peterson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rassle.
Rassle trying to pass the guard but Peterson defending well.
Rassle with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Peterson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Rassle scores with a couple of nice shots.
Peterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rassle on the ground.

Rassle misses with a head shot. Peterson uses the momentum to regain guard.
Rassle has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Peterson wants to stand and escape but Rassle is having none of it.

Rassle slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rassle creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Peterson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rassle lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Peterson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Rassle connects with a decent elbow.
Rassle content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rassle wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peterson keeps working.

Rassle working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Rassle in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Rassle is putting a hurting on Peterson here, landing some big shots from side control.
Rassle tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Peterson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Rassle is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Peterson's shoulder. That is not cool.
Rassle lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Peterson pushes Rassle away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rassle gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Peterson is breathing heavily.

Rassle is trying to get an arm triangle but Peterson is defending well.
Peterson seems a little lost for a moment, as Rassle dominates the positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rassle lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Rassle working away.
Rassle is working Peterson over with some ground and pound from side control.
Rassle connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Peterson some visible discomfort.
Rassle remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Rassle cracks Peterson with a big right hand but Peterson just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rassle dominated that round.
That's time! Peterson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rassle fails to land the takedown.
Hank Peterson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Peterson lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rassle takes a step back to recover.
Peterson pushes Rassle away with a front kick.
Rassle moves in looking to clinch but Peterson pushes him off.
Rassle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Peterson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rassle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rassle misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rassle has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Peterson.
Rassle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rassle shoots in looking for a takedown but Peterson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rassle's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Hank Peterson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Rassle.

Rassle fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Rassle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Peterson tries to avoid it but Rassle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Peterson to the ground. Peterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Peterson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Peterson throws a nice inside leg kick.
Rassle has a takedown stuffed.
Peterson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Peterson, right into the meat.
Rassle closes the distance but Peterson moves to the side
and Peterson counters with a solid body kick.
Rassle shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peterson as he jumps to the side.

Peterson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rassle's calf.
Peterson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rassle.
Rassle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rassle is breathing heavily.

Rassle changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peterson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Peterson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
You can see the frustration on Peterson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Peterson tries to buck Rassle off but Rassle is having none of it.
Peterson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Peterson tries to get out of the position.

Rassle looks up at the clock and then as Peterson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rassle smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rassle tries to score with some ground and pound. Peterson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Peterson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rassle tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Rassle is looking to take a break and control but Peterson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rassle scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Peterson to see if he's OK.

Ryan Rassle has got the better of the ground game so far.

Peterson takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rassle cracks Peterson with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Rassle looks up at the clock and then as Peterson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Rassle smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Rassle grinds an elbow into Peterson's temple.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Rassle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Peterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rassle is pushing down on Peterson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Peterson is fighting to maintain full guard but Rassle has managed to sneak the leg through.
Rassle stalling.
Rassle works his foot free and advances to mount.
Rassle lands with some strikes.
Peterson is in a horrible position here. Rassle smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Oh Peterson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Rassle working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Rassle lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Peterson! Rassle sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Peterson and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Ryan Rassle!
