Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Sapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matthieu Renaud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renaud has chosen Bite Marks/ Screeching Weasel as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Matthieu Renaud has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bob Sapp's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthieu Renaud!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapp moves out of range as Renaud strikes.
Renaud misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sapp takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Renaud throws a body punch but Sapp moves out of range.
Jab, jab by Renaud - just one landing.

Sapp shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Sapp uses his free foot to push down on Renaud's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Renaud.
Sapp connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sapp thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Renaud is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Sapp throws some wild stikes that Renaud manages to avoid easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sapp misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sapp avoids the attempt from Renaud to control.
Renaud is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sapp with good strikes from the mount here!
Sapp thowing shots but they're missing.
Sapp looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Renaud regains half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sapp misses with a head shot. Renaud uses the momentum to regain guard.
Sapp tries to free his leg and advance position but Renaud is retaining full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Renaud preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Renaud is on top in guard.
Sapp on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Sapp tries to get out of the position.
Sapp wants to stand and escape but Renaud is having none of it.
Sapp trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Sapp has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Renaud drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sapp looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sapp looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sapp!
Sapp throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ground and pound from Sapp seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Sapp decides to stand up, so the ref orders Renaud to his feet.
Sapp fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sapp cracks Renaud with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Renaud tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sapp manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Renaud cracks Sapp with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Renaud gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Renaud lands an elbow inside.


It looks like Bob Sapp has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Renaud stalls.

Renaud escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Renaud stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Renaud wants it to stay on the feet.
Sapp thows a left - swing and a miss!
A big left from Renaud misses.
Renaud scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Horrible takedown by Sapp or perhaps it was just good defense by Renaud which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Sapp. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sapp avoids the head kick by Renaud.
The fight stays on the outside here - Renaud looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sapp tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Renaud was well out of range. Poor timing from Sapp.
Renaud has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Renaud keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sapp shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Renaud as he jumps to the side.
Sapp is breathing heavily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Renaud lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sapp at a distance.
Renaud throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Bob Sapp will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Bob Sapp's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Renaud scores with a kick to the midsection.
Renaud connects with a stiff jab that staggers Sapp - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Matthieu Renaud!
