PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Conlin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Burton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Conlin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eminem The Way I Am. Burton has chosen Carcass - Keep on Rotting in the Free World as his entrance music. Fred Burton has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Kevin Conlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Fred Burton!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Donald Grub and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burton throws an overhand right that lands on Conlin's shoulder, as Conlin tries to avoid the shot.
Burton shoots in looking for a takedown. Conlin tries to sprawl out of it but Burton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Conlin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Conlin swings away with a body shot that misses
and Burton counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Conlin looks to throw the jab but Burton is out of range.
Burton ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Conlin dodges the punch combination from Burton.
Burton fails with a takedown attempt.
Burton slips a jab from Conlin.
Conlin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Conlin swings widly with a right hand
and Burton counters with a nice uppercut.
A lazy left from Conlin finds it's target.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Burton scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Conlin wants to control but Burton postures up.

Burton is thwarting Conlin's attempts to control the position.

Burton is stalling here. Conlin is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Burton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Conlin has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Burton is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Conlin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Conlin's back!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Burton is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Conlin is defending well though. Burton let's go of the attempt for now.
Conlin manages to reverse the position and now he's in Burton's guard. Nice work there by Conlin.

Conlin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Burton stacks Conlin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Burton!

Conlin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Burton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Burton uses his free foot to push down on Conlin's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Conlin.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kevin Conlin will probably get the nod.

Conlin is really struggling to control Burton but he's trying to hold on to the position.
