Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oji San (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mikey Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oji San!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Ren Mimura and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kim uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by San.

San with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
San throws an overhand right that lands on Kim's shoulder, as Kim tries to avoid the shot.

San lands with a hook. Kim tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Oji San seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
San tries to close the distance and clinch but Kim swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kim stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from San.
San feints a jab promting Kim to slip. San then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kim slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
San fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
San tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kim is able to avoid easily.

San wants to land a leg kick but Kim is out of range.
Kim gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

San feints and then cracks Kim's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kim down.

San walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kim checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Kim throws a front kick aimed at San's knee but San avoids it well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
San lands a leg kick that knocks Kim off balance momentarily.
Kim is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
San lands with a straight right. Kim didn't see that one coming.
San tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kim was well out of range. Poor timing from San.

Kim does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
San closes the distance and lands a one-two.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oji San dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


San looks to throw the jab but Kim is out of range.
San fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kim manages to avoid it.
Kim takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kim on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Kim fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. San looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kim will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
San wants to land a leg kick but Kim is out of range.

Kim swings and misses with a hook to the body.

San throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

San connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Kim throws a sloppy head kick and San moves out of range easily.
Kim has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by San.
San lunges at Kim with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kim's hand.
Kim attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
San tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
San dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kim. That did some damage!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Kim might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Kim swats away the attempt to clinch by San.
Oji San seems to be getting the better of the standup.

San throws a jab but it's blocked by Kim.
San connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

San throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
San tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Kim manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
San wants to slow Kim down by chopping away at his legs.
Kim on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by San. San obviously looking to wear him down.

San throws a lazy right hand but Kim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

San digs a right hand into Kim's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kim's gas tank.

San tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kim's elbow.
San lands a hook to the side of the head.


Kim is rocked!
San stalls.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oji San showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Oh Kim is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kim takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
San swinging wildly here.
San throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
San shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
San wants to clinch.

Kim takes the fight into the clinch.

San misses with a hook from the clinch.
Kim throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

San connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kim's face.
Kim tries to circle away but San has him pinned against the ropes.
San lands a right hand that snaps the head of Kim backwards.
San working the clinch nicely. Kim is working for position but San cracks him with a big knee to the head! Kim crumples up against the ropes and San lands two more shots before the ref can save Kim! This one is all over!
