Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masahiko Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ritsuko Asuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura avoids a punch combination nicely.
Asuke scores with a shot to the body.
Asuke throws a right hand that misses

and Kimura counters with a nice double leg into side control. Asuke won't be happy with that.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Kimura decides to stand back up. Kimura steps back and let's Asuke get back to his feet.
Asuke swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kimura shoots in and drives through. Asuke sprawls well.

Kimura fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Asuke sprawls well initially but Kimura persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Kimura is looking for a kimura but Asuke is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kimura to get the leverage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Asuke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kimura pulls his head out easily.

Asuke is looking for a triangle here but Kimura uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Kimura seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Asuke for as long as he can get away with.
