The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas misses with a wild combination.
Penna shoots in and drives through. Thomas sprawls well.
Penna fails to land the takedown.
Thomas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Penna.

and Penna counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Thomas's guard now.
Thomas has control of Penna's left arm, preventing Penna from doing any damage.
Thomas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Thomas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Penna is controlling him.
Thomas is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Thomas has momentary wrist control but Penna slips an elbow through the middle.

Penna drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thomas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Penna has Thomas in his guard.

Penna looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Thomas is defending well. Penna quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Thomas has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Penna celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
