Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mihail Guzenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phoenix Sux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sux throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A bone on bone clash there as Sux blocks the leg kick.
Guzenko throws a series of punches but Sux moves out of range.
Guzenko lands with a nice combination. Sux backs away looking to recover.

It looks like Phoenix Sux has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Guzenko misses with a two punch combination.
Guzenko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Sux fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Guzenko.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sux sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Guzenko's guard.

Sux is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guzenko is just riding it out for now. Sux eventually gives up the hold.

Sux is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Guzenko sees it coming and defends easily.

Sux looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Phoenix Sux dominated that round.

Sux slips a jab and a cross from Guzenko.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Sux. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Sux lands a nice leg kick that just misses Guzenko's sensitive parts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
