The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mishima uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
Mishima swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thomas tries to move into range but Mishima moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mishima misses with a lunging right hand

and Thomas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mishima's guard now.

Mishima pushes Thomas off and gets back to his feet.
Mishima connects with an inside leg kick.
Mishima uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
Mishima pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thomas back to the cage. Mishima follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

It looks like Gerald Thomas has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mishima bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Thomas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A jab from Mishima does it's job there.
Mishima connects with a nice looking jab.
Mishima tries to land a leg kick but Thomas saw it coming and moves away.
Thomas throws a sloppy head kick and Mishima moves out of range easily.
Mishima scores with a nice right hand.

Thomas ducks under a wild hook from Mishima.
Mishima throws a jab when Thomas was well out of range.

Thomas takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mishima. Thomas shrugs it off though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mishima wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mishima lands a nice looking body shot.
Mishima lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A big left from Mishima misses.
Thomas gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mishima.

Thomas fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mishima sprawls well initially but Thomas persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mishima manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Thomas dives in and grabs Mishima's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mishima pushes down on Thomas's head and hops out.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Thomas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mishima - the referee stops the clock and Thomas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mishima. Thomas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Danga de danga de dang - Mishima scores with a four punch combination!

Thomas is rocked!
Mishima pounces like a tiger and cracks Thomas with a vicious hook! Thomas is down but not out! Mishima follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
