The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Assis with that takedown attempt.
Assis closes the distance and clinches up with Martinez, looking for a takedown. Assis pushes Martinez against the cage but Martinez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Martinez gets the takedown into side control.
Assis is trying to get back to half guard.
Martinez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Assis keeps working.
Assis manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Martinez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Martinez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Assis defends it well.
