Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jia Le Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kj Barakus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jia Le Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kj Barakus!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barakus blocks the body kick.
Barakus has managed to clinch.
Li lands an elbow inside that Barakus shrugs off.
It looks like Kj Barakus has been cut.
Li crunches a lovely knee into Barakus's ribcage.
Li tries to work over Barakus's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Barakus turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Barakus manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Li gets back to half guard.

Li wants to control but Barakus is keeping busy.

Barakus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Barakus wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Li's closed guard. He's half up but Li has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Li pivots and extends the arm, Barakus falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Li! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jia Le Li!
A relieved looking Jia Le Li thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
