Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mauer Zajzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Zajzon. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Zajzon.
Jones has a takedown stuffed.
Mauer Zajzon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Jones.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Zajzon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Zajzon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Zajzon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Zajzon tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Zajzon sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Zajzon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Zajzon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Zajzon is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
