Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Rogan!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Rogan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rogan checks a leg kick.

Rogan rushes Velasquez and presses him up against the cage.
Velasquez's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!


It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut.
Rogan tries a knee to the head but Velasquez blocks it.
Velasquez is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rogan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Velasquez working hard to break the clinch.
Rogan has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Velasquez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rogan lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Velasquez is trying to maintain a safe position but Rogan gets an underhook and turns Velasquez into the cage.
Velasquez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A frustrated look appears on Velasquez's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Velasquez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Rogan has Velasquez pressed against the cage, preventing Velasquez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Rogan's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Velasquez misses with a punch on the inside.
Velasquez wants to break the clinch but can't.

Velasquez is trying to force a seperation but Rogan has the dominant position.
Velasquez is trying to break the clinch but Rogan is controlling him.
Velasquez lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rogan pushes off an throws an elbow but Velasquez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Rogan fails to pull guard.

Rogan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rogan avoids the body shot from Velasquez.

Rogan closes the distance and clinches.
Rogan tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Rogan softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Velasquez throws an elbow that misses.
Velasquez looking to throw knees to the head but Rogan is blocking nicely.
Rogan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A body shot lands from Velasquez.
Rogan dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Velasquez is trying to push Rogan away but Rogan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Velasquez wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rogan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cain Velasquez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Velasquez throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rogan shoots in but Velasquez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cain Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Rogan.
Velasquez looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Rogan wants to clinch.
Velasquez connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Velasquez throws an overhand right that lands on Rogan's shoulder, as Rogan tries to avoid the shot.
Velasquez throws a right hand that Rogan ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogan also avoids with ease.
Velasquez misses with a double jab

and Rogan moves into the clinch.
Velasquez is breathing heavily.
Rogan lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rogan blocks an uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rogan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
A shot in the inside from Rogan.
Rogan scores with a hook to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Rogan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogan stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Rogan looking to throw knees to the head but Velasquez is blocking nicely.
Nice body punch from Rogan - that landed with a thud.
Rogan lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Rogan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.


Cain Velasquez's cut is getting worse.
Rogan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Velasquez blocks it with crossed arms.
Rogan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Rogan avoiding damage.
Rogan throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Velasquezs head.
Rogan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rogan effectively controlling the action here.
Rogan throws an elbow that misses.

Rogan breaks from the clinch.

Rogan clinches up against the cage.
A short right from Rogan.
Rogan content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Rogan lands a damaging elbow.


Velasquez is rocked!


Cain Velasquez's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Rogan drops Velasquez onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Velasquez is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Oh Velasquez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!


Jeez, Cain Velasquez's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Rogan dips a shoulder and cracks Velasquez with a mighty uppercut! Velasquez falls back against the cage and Rogan unloads with a barrage of strikes! Velasquez is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Rogan screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Rogan!
