Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kiwi Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Rocco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bird has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocco closes the distance and clinches.
Rocco lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Bird is breathing heavily.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Rocco has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Rocco is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bird can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rocco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rocco takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.

Rocco is working the ground and pound. Can Bird escape?
Bird is rocked!
Rocco is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Rocco gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Rocco gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Rocco apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Oh Bird is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rocco walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Bird drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Rocco swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Bird's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Antonio Rocco!
