The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vazquez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Willis wants to clinch up but Vazquez keeps it at a distance.
Vazquez tests Willis's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Willis gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Willis uses his free foot to push down on Vazquez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vazquez.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Willis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vazquez is on top in guard.

Willis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Vazquez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Vazquez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Willis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Vazquez stacks Willis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Vazquez!
Vazquez is looking to take a break and control but Willis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
