Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Miguelito Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabricio Thiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thiago shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dragon pinned against the cage. Dragon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dragon stuffs the takedown attempt from Thiago. Thiago gets slowly back to his feet.
Thiago closes the distance and clinches up with Dragon, looking for a takedown. Thiago pushes Dragon against the cage but Dragon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Miguelito Dragon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fabricio Thiago.

Dragon moves into the clinch.
Dragon using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Thiago has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Thiago tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Dragon just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dragon connects with a nasty looking knee right to Thiago's face.
Dragon tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Thiago avoids it.
Thiago goes for a takedown in the clinch but Dragon prevents it.

Dragon is fighting off a takedown attempt but Thiago is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Dragon to the mat. Dragon regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Thiago is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dragon is just riding it out for now. Thiago eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thiago is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thiago thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dragon's head.
Thiago thows a huge punch but Dragon dodges it nicely.

Dragon is defending against the submission attempts here by Thiago.
Thiago is keen to just control but Dragon is a slippery customer.
Dragon knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thiago on the ground.

Thiago drops an elbow to the side of Dragon's head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Thiago is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Dragon is just riding it out for now. Thiago eventually gives up the hold.

Dragon is refusing to be controlled, as Thiago sits in half guard.

Thiago is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dragon sees it coming and defends easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Thiago is keen to just control but Dragon is a slippery customer.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dragon throws a sloppy head kick and Thiago moves out of range easily.

and Thiago counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Dragon's guard now.

Thiago controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Thiago stands and throws Dragon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The strikes coming from Thiago are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Dragon is not content to let Thiago control the position.
Thiago misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Thiago scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dragon to see if he's OK.
Thiago cracks Dragon with a big right hand but Dragon just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Thiago tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thiago has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
