The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson misses with a head kick.
Johnson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

McGrew tries a head kick but it misses.

McGrew is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Johnson's half guard.
McGrew has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Johnson is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
McGrew lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
McGrew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

McGrew wants to finish this one by submission but Johnson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McGrew.
McGrew wants to control the pace but Johnson is squirming around nicely.

McGrew has hold of Johnson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Johnson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

McGrew is looking for the choke from the back position but Johnson is controlling his hands well.

McGrew is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Johnson knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Johnson for a finish.

McGrew is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Johnson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
