The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen looks to land a combination but Knott avoids it well.
Simen Nielsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nielsen. Knott does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nielsen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Nielsen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Knott shoots for a double leg takedown but Nielsen sprawls well. He's pushed Knott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Nielsen stalks Knott and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Knott's face. Knott staggers backwards, shaken.

Nielsen throws a nice looking combination but Knott bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nielsen lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Nielsen.
Nielsen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knott.
Nielsen connects with a good right hand that stumbles Knott. Knott circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Nielsen throws a right hand that Knott ducks under and follows up with a left that Knott also avoids with ease.

Knott closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Nielsen might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Knott kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Nielsen wants to pass the guard but Knott is keeping the position.
Knott is looking to stand up but Nielsen isn't so interested in that idea.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nielsen is pushing down on Knott's leg trying to pass to half guard. Knott is fighting to maintain full guard but Nielsen has managed to sneak the leg through.
Nielsen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Nielsen tries to bum rush Knott with a series of wild strikes but Knott uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Knott looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nielsen throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nielsen stalks Knott and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Knott's face. Knott staggers backwards, shaken.

Knott looks to throw the jab but Nielsen is out of range.

Knott on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Nielsen lands a nice hook to Knott's body. Knott takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Nielsen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Knott is fending him off so far but Nielsen persists. Nope, Knott circles away and we're back to standing.
Knott moves forwards but Nielsen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nielsen leaves Knott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Knott knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nielsen on the ground.
Nielsen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nielsen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nielsen maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Knott could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Nielsen has cracked it and Knott is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Nielsen!
