Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Severs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Igor Helsing!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Severs just misses with a punch to the body.
Severs lands a head shot.
Nice takedown defense from Severs. No joy for Helsing on that attempt.
Severs bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Severs ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Helsing moves away.
Severs checks the leg kick.
Severs throws a body punch but Helsing moves out of range.
Severs throws a hook but Helsing blocks it.
Severs lands with a hook. Helsing tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Severs slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Helsing takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
A bone on bone clash there as Severs blocks the leg kick.

Severs throws a good cross that connects.
Severs fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Helsing manages to avoid it.

Severs stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Severs wants it to stay on the feet.
Helsing shoots in for a double leg but Severs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Helsing does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Severs lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Helsing circles away quickly and effectively.

Helsing shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Severs sprawls well. Severs wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Helsing gets slowly back to his feet.

Helsing throws a front kick aimed at Severs's knee but Severs avoids it well.
Nice straight punches there by Severs. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Severs.
Severs scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Helsing doesn't seem bothered though.
Severs is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Nice defenses there by Helsing.
Severs moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Helsing scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Helsing is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Severs knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Severs really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Igor Helsing showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Severs connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Helsing's hands.

Helsing feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Severs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Helsing on the ground.
