The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sato scores with a nice right hand.
Bariles uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sato.
Sato fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bariles dips to his left and cracks Sato with an uppercut!

Sato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bariles but Bariles pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sato looks for a takedown but Bariles sprawls well.

and Bariles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Sato doesn't manage to clinch there - Bariles circles away.

Sato tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bariles thuds his right hand into Sato's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
No joy there for Bariles, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bariles takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sato is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sato wants to clinch
and Bariles counters with a left and a right that stings Sato.
Sato shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bariles as he avoids it easily.
Erik Bariles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Machida Sato.

Bariles shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sato eats them both and turns towards Bariles to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sato takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bariles darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bariles pounces like a tiger and cracks Sato with a vicious hook! Sato is down but not out! Bariles follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
