PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matty Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Brown might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shipping Up To Boston. The crowd seem to be enjoying King's choice of entrance music: Slayer - Raining Blood. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a body kick the misses

and King counters with a head kick that drops Brown to the mat! Brown scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Brown is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brown swivels and escapes.
Oh Brown is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brown scores with a hook.
Brown misses the shot to the body.
King avoids a kick to the body.
Brown seems to have got his legs back now.
Brown on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
King tries a head kick but it misses.
Brown looks to land a combination but King avoids it well.
Brown rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but King moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
King throws a right and a left that Brown avoids nicely.
Brown throws a right and a left that both miss.

King gets a double leg takedown into Brown's guard.
Brown is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea.

King stands and steps away. Brown gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brown has taken the fight to the clinch.
King avoiding damage as Brown throws knees to the body.
Brown wants to stall.
Brown is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
King is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King throws a front kick that sends Brown stumbling back into the cage.
A head kick by King - that's a beauty! Brown is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even King can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Kerry King!
A relieved looking Kerry King thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
