Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Ponting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Donelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ponting throws a combination that misses
and Donelly counters with a series of strikes. Ponting will be more careful next time no doubt.
Ponting misses with a jab, cross combination.
Donelly throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ricky Ponting seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donelly throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Donelly misses with a few strikes there.
Donelly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ponting.
Ponting lands with an uppercut that bounces Donelly off the cage and back into range.
Donelly scores with a hook.
Ponting misses with a right hand
and Donelly counters with a two punch combo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Donelly.
Ponting falls off balance throwing a combination
and Donelly counters with a nice low kick that buckles Ponting's knee momentarily.
Ponting takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Donelly swinging wildly here.
Donelly uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ponting has time to react.
Ponting throws a right hand that Donelly ducks under and follows up with a left that Donelly also avoids with ease.
Ponting missing with a left hand there. Donelly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Donelly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Donelly lands a nice looking body shot.
Ponting is breathing heavily.
Donelly stalks Ponting and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ponting's face. Ponting staggers backwards, shaken.

Ponting missing with a left hand there. Donelly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Donelly smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Ponting's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ponting duly obliges.

Donelly scores with a hook to the body. Ponting takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ponting has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Donelly.
Ponting walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Left hook, right uppercut from Donelly.
Donelly is looking to slow Ponting down with leg kicks.

Donelly lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Donelly throws a head kick that half lands.
Donelly lands with a kick to the temple. Ponting shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

and Donelly counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Oh Ponting is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Donelly lands the left hand.
Ponting walks into a stiff left hand from Donelly.
Donelly dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Donelly drops Ponting with a naaaaasty hook - Ponting is in real trouble here! Donelly dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
